Vincent Paul “Yogi” “Vinny” Gulotta, Jr., resident of St. Bernard for 30 years, passed away on November 22, 2016. He was born in New Orleans to the late Anna Randazzo Gulotta and Vincent P. Gulotta, Sr. He is survived by his sister, Cheryllynn Gulotta Hipps (the late Gary); niece, Jacelle Hipps Sherwood (Joseph); nephews, Jason M. Hipps (Nicole), Justin M. Hipps (Amanda), and Jordan M. Hipps (Gabrielle); great nieces and nephews, Madison, Cameron, Jason, Hunter, Isabella, Alexandra, Sarah, and Calon. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.

Hipps (Gabrielle); great nieces and nephews, Madison, Cameron, Jason, Hunter, Isabella, Alexandra, Sarah, and Calon. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.

He graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1967. He graduated from SLU in 1971. While at SLU, he was a Brother of KDT Fraternity and served as the VP of the SLU student body. In 1971 he enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Years ago he proudly marched in the Italian Marching Club. He retired from Harrah’s Casino. In his younger years, Yogi played baseball and football at Bunny Friend Park coached by Firmin Simms.

He enjoyed fishing, especially at Grand Isle, and going to Aaron’s Coffee Shop in St. Bernard every morning with his buddies. Most of all, he loved being with his sister and her family. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans.
