Metairie, LA – Quay William Parrott, Jr. (Pete), age 75, of Metairie LA, died Friday, October 7, 2016. Pete was born in Charleston, SC in 1941. He was a 1959 graduate of Waycross High School and received his BS in 1963 in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA and his MBA in 1968 in International Business from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA. Metairie, LA – Quay William Parrott, Jr. (Pete), age 75, of Metairie LA, died Friday, October 7, 2016. Pete was born in Charleston, SC in 1941. He was a 1959 graduate of Waycross High School and received his BS in 1963 in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA and his MBA in 1968 in International Business from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA. He served as a first lieutenant in the US army from 1964-66. His professional career started in banking in Atlanta, GA and led him to New Orleans, LA for international banking. He embarked on many adventures including owning businesses in Louisiana and Honduras. He taught at Delgado local community college. He loved history, particularly military and family history, and spent the last several years as a volunteer docent for the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, LA. He was an avid sports fan who loved his Yellow Jackets and Saints.



Preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Halsey Parrott and his father, Quay William Parrott, Sr; he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Norma S. Parrott; children; Dr. Quay W. Parrott III (Amy) of Waynesboro, VA; Elizabeth H. Parrott of Nashville, TN; and John C. Parrott of Staunton, VA; Dr. Rene A. Castillo (Hayward) of Austin, TX; Lizette A. Castillo of Metairie, LA; his brothers, John M. Parrott (Marilyn) of Marietta, GA; Thomas C. Parrott (Phyllis) of Ellijay, GA; David H. Parrott (Donna) of Lakemont, GA; 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.



Our gratitude to Dr. Homeyar K. Dinshaw, his cardiologist and his nurse Rhoda and the staff at Oschner for many years of their assistance and care. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:00am at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment in All Saints Mausoleum.
