Obituary

Our loving mother and wife, Denise Marie Wagner, lost a courageous seven-year battle with cancer at age 57 in Vancouver, WA on Thursday November 24, 2016.

Denise was born on September 30th, 1959 in Metairie, Louisiana to parents John and Elizabeth Bensel and grew up with two older brothers, John Bensel, III and Ronald Bensel.

True to her southern upbringing, she was most well known amongst friends for her incredible, and often secret, cooking recipes. It was a joke amongst the family that she was always worried about the next meal. Lunch wouldn’t be over and she was already planning the dinner.

Denise is the strongest woman anyone close to her will ever know and taught us life lessons that will stick with us as we continue to grow. She dedicated her life to raising our family and persevered through every obstacle to make sure she could be there to support us. We know Denise was so thankful for her close friends and family that were there to support her throughout this journey.

Today we wish to remember the great times we shared, her smile, her love, and the sacrifices she made to make sure everyone around her was better off. She is survived by Garey Wagner, beloved husband of 28 years, and their three children, Gregory, Lauren, and Bridget.
